These alternatives should be aimed at incorporating waste into the production system for their conversion into high value-added chemicals or raw materials for refineries, reducing the use of fossil fuels and, thus, the greenhouse gases emissions.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of the HYPY-CAT project is to study the feasibility of low-pressure catalytic hydropyrolysis for the recovery of organic waste of a complex nature, such as lignin, lignocellulosic biomass, defatted microalgae, plastics and textiles, characterized by the presence of a relatively high number of functionalized species, with significant O and N contents.
