El incremento de las tasas de reciclado de pl\u00e1sticos es crucial para la implementaci\u00f3n de una econom\u00eda circular, como establece claramente la Estrategia de Pl\u00e1sticos de la UE. NONTOX se centra en la eliminaci\u00f3n de sustancias peligrosas y no deseadas de los residuos pl\u00e1sticos teniendo en cuenta toda la cadena de valor: tecnolog\u00edas de clasificaci\u00f3n y pretratamiento, reciclado y post-tratamiento. Tambi\u00e9n considera la conversi\u00f3n de los pl\u00e1sticos no reciclables y residuos del proceso de reciclado en productos de inter\u00e9s comercial que incrementan la aportaci\u00f3n de valor del proceso global.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto NONTOX se centrar\u00e1 en la recuperaci\u00f3n de materiales pl\u00e1sticos procedentes de los residuos RAEE (Residuos de aparatos el\u00e9ctricos y electr\u00f3nicos), VFU (Residuos de veh\u00edculos al final de su vida \u00fatil) y C&#038;D (Residuos de construcci\u00f3n y demolici\u00f3n) que contienen aditivos peligrosos o compuestos no deseados como retardantes de llama, estabilizadores, materiales de relleno, etc. Para conseguir este objetivo, NONTOX desarrollar\u00e1 dos tecnolog\u00edas diferentes (Extruclean y CreaSolv\u00ae) capaces de eliminar esas sustancias peligrosas de los residuos pl\u00e1sticos. Los principales productos del reciclado incluir\u00e1n pl\u00e1sticos como ABS, EPS, PS, HIPS, PE, PP que de manera conjunta representan cerca de la mitad de la demanda de pl\u00e1sticos de la UE, de ah\u00ed la importancia de su reciclado frente a su env\u00edo a vertederos o incineraci\u00f3n como se hace con una parte importante de estos residuos en la actualidad.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto NONTOX tambi\u00e9n mejorar\u00e1 el conocimiento y el estado del arte en las t\u00e9cnicas de pretratamiento y clasificaci\u00f3n de los residuos pl\u00e1sticos que contienen sustancias peligrosas. Se investigar\u00e1 la conversi\u00f3n termoqu\u00edmica de los pl\u00e1sticos no reciclables y de los residuos de los principales procesos de reciclado para aumentar la eficiencia global del sistema ampliando el rango de productos y aplicaciones finales. NONTOX est\u00e1 conformado por un consorcio multidisciplinar que incluye centros de investigaci\u00f3n de prestigio internacional, universidades, importantes socios industriales y recicladores, as\u00ed como expertos en dise\u00f1o de productos.<\/p>\n<p>IMDEA Energ\u00eda ser\u00e1 responsable de la conversi\u00f3n termocatal\u00edtica de pl\u00e1sticos no reciclables mec\u00e1nicamente y los residuos de los nuevos procesos de reciclado, as\u00ed como de la eliminaci\u00f3n segura de las sustancias peligrosas de esas corrientes.
