Conference: Modeling and Simulation in Complex Energy Projects: Challenges and Solutions

On december 4, IMDEA Energy, in collaboration with MathWorks, will host the conference “Modeling and Simulation in Complex Energy Projects: Challenges and Solutions”. This technical meeting will bring together experts from the institute along with professionals from technology centers and companies in the energy sector. The aim is to analyze the main challenges posed by complex energy projects and to explore innovative modeling and simulation-based solutions that help mitigate their associated risks.

Milan Prodanovic, Head of the Electrical Systems Unit, will discuss the challenges involved in the decarbonization of power systems. Following this, specialists from leading energy companies such as Tecnalia, Red Eléctrica Española, Hesstec, Arteche, and Norvento will present the use of modeling and simulation tools for grid stability analysis, active filter design, and the development of hybrid energy storage systems, among other topics.

The conference will include an optional technical visit to the Smart Energy Integration Laboratory (SEIL), where attendees will hace the opportunity to see first-hand the infraestructures, technologies, and research lines developed by IMDEA Energy in this field.

The event will be held in Spanish and is aimed at renewable generation companies, power grid operators, battery manufacturers and integratos, as well as technology companies and engineering firms in the energy, renewable, power electronics, and storage sectors.
