Seminar Empowering Grid Stability with PV & BESS: Tackling Safety Challenges
On 30 September, IMDEA Energy will host the event “Driving Grid Stability with PV and BESS: Addressing Safety Challenges”, organised with the sponsorship of Sungrow and in collaboration with DNV.
The morning session will focus on the safety and performance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). It will be opened by Jesús Palma, Deputy Director of IMDEA Energy and Vice-President of Batteryplat, and will feature contributions from Sungrow experts Juan Espinoza, Jaime Sánchez and Lin Xuesong, as well as Carlos Hernández from DNV, who will highlight the importance of safety and the solutions available.
The afternoon session will address grid stability and renewable integration. Milan Prodanovic, Head of the Electrical Systems Unit at IMDEA Energy, will speak about enhancing grid resilience and flexibility under high renewable penetration using BESS. Sungrow specialists Henry Liu and Federico Feuchter will present grid-forming technologies, black start capabilities and solutions for photovoltaic (PV) generation. Both sessions will conclude with an open debate with participants.
The event will be held in English and is aimed at renewable generation companies, electricity grid operators, battery manufacturers and integrators, technology firms and engineering companies in the energy, renewable, power electronics and storage sectors, as well as electricity-intensive industries, including the railway sector, and researchers working in the field of renewable integration and storage systems.
