Our approach addresses the limitations of organic batteries, specifically electrochemical performance, limited cycle life, and practicality, by developing stable, high-performance porous polymer active-materials and advanced electrodes designed for realworld applications. We aim to engineer an innovative platform of multifunctional redox porous polymers (RPPs), including conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs), COFs and hyperbranched polymers (HCP) with exceptional electrochemical properties, supported by a deep understanding of their operation, charge storage, and degradation mechanisms. The final aim is to develop practical Li-polymer, Zn-polymer and all-polymer battery prototypes that balance most key performance indicators (KPIs) effectively.<\/p>\n<p>The HOPE-BAT project will be conducted within the Electrochemical Processes Unit (ECPU) of IMDEA Energy which specializes in materials development (inorganic and organic active-materials, ammoniate, molecular crowding, and gel polymer electrolytes), components, and small prototypes for electrochemical energy storage systems.
