On the occasion of Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, IMDEA Energy hosted students from Rey Juan Carlos University during two visits held on April 20 and May 4, with the aim of introducing them to research in clean and sustainable energy.

The visits began in the institute’s auditorium, where Alberto Pinto, Predoctoral Researcher in the Thermochemical Processes Unit, delivered an introductory presentation on the institute’s main research areas, as well as the key role of technological innovation in the transition towards a more sustainable energy model.

Throughout the day, the students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the work carried out in different units of IMDEA Energy. During the tour, they visited facilities such as the Thermochemical Processes Unit laboratory, the Solar Simulator, the Pyrolysis Pilot Plant, and the Solar Field, where they were able to observe advanced technologies for energy conversion and storage in operation.

These visits are part of IMDEA Energy’s commitment to scientific outreach and the training of future professionals in the field of sustainability and renewable energy, fostering interest in research among university students and bringing science closer to society.
