Important notice regarding an incident relating to the security of personal data

IMDEA ENERGY suffered a ransomware attack on March 19 that affected records containing identity and contact information of former employees of the Foundation, as well as pre-contractual data submitted in applications to positions published by the Foundation since 2023. This data could be used to send commercial communications, attempt to obtain credentials or other information through social engineering attacks, or impersonate your identity. The attack resulted in the encryption of the information, and at present we cannot rule out unauthorized access to it, although there is currently no evidence of fraudulent activity.

IMDEA ENERGY has adopted the necessary measures to contain the attack and has filed the reports and notifications with the Police and the Spanish Data Protection Agency. While the information is being restored, it is possible that we may not have your contact details to communicate with you directly. Therefore, you may contact our Data Protection Officer at datos.energia@imdea.org for further information. In the meantime, we recommend that you remain alert to suspicious communications requesting personal or financial information and do not provide such information in response to unverified requests. In the event of any suspicious activity, please change your passwords immediately.
