Bio

Nikolaos Monokrousos is Associate Professor of Soil Ecology, and head of the Soil Ecology and Bioeconomy Lab at the International Hellenic University, Greece, with over 20 years in the field. His research focuses on soil biodiversity (nematodes, microbes), biochemical processes, and sustainable land management, including treated wastewater irrigation effects, agro-waste amendments, and circular bioeconomy. He has authored 86 peer-reviewed papers and participated in multiple national/international projects (Horizon, PRIMA, LIFE). He supervises MSc/PhD students, coordinates Erasmus programs, and leads EU Green Deal-aligned initiatives on soil restoration and crop productivity.
