1st Technical Seminar of the Master Battery Chair – UPM

On Tuesday, 8 July 2025, the Master Battery Chair at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) will hold its first technical seminar under the title “The contribution of BESS battery storage to the flexibility and resilience of the electricity grid.”
The event will take place in the Red Room of the School of Industrial Design and Engineering (ETSIDI-UPM) and will bring together leading academics and researchers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of energy storage in the context of the energy transition.
Jesús Palma, Head of the Electrochemical Processes Unit at IMDEA Energy, will take part in the event with a presentation entitled “Architecture and lifespan of energy storage systems using BESS,” scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00. He will also participate in the final round table discussion, from 12:30 to 13:30, alongside experts from UPM and CIEMAT, focusing on the role of storage in enhancing grid flexibility and resilience.
