IMDEA Energy joins the tenth edition of the international science outreach festival Pint of Science, which takes place on May 19, 20, and 21 in bars and venues across more than a dozen municipalities in the Madrid Community.
This year, the event will feature Guillermo Gortázar Valverde, a Predoctoral Researcher at the Advanced Porous Materials Unit, who will give a talk titled “The Wall Street pore: MOFs, money, and CO2” on May 21 at 7:00 PM at the iconic Café La Manuela (C. de San Vicente Ferrer, 29).
In addition to lectures for the general public, the 2025 edition includes two new notable initiatives:
-
Pint KIDS, with scientific activities for children in spaces such as Mercado de San Leopoldo, Arkose Madrid Cuatro Caminos, and La Pecera at the Círculo de Bellas Artes (on May 19 and 21).
-
PINTa a bulo, an outreach action in collaboration with Infoveritas to debunk scientific myths, especially those related to health and the environment.
The festival will also feature two scientific concerts by the group “Las Biolocas,” who reinterpret popular songs with lyrics about biology, and a special event combining art and science about the creation of the Universe.
Pint of Science is the largest free science outreach festival in the world, aiming to bring science closer to society in informal and friendly settings such as bars. In Madrid, the 2025 edition includes 86 talks across more than a dozen venues, as well as activities for children, concerts with scientific versions of popular songs, and sessions to combat misinformation in science.
