ESENCE: New technologies for the elimination and in-situ detection of priority pollutants in wastewater

Research project with reference: RTC2019-007254-5, coordinated by the company Depuración de aguas del Mediterráneo (DAM), corresponding to the call 2019, within the State Program of Research, Development and Innovation Oriented Challenges of the Society (Collaboration Challenges 2019).

The purpose of this project is the investigation of new in-situ detection technologies for priority emerging pollutants and the development of new processes for their elimination. Specifically, the synthesis, development and optimization of Molecularly Printed Polymers (MIPs) will be studied, which are polymers of molecular recognition synthesized on demand capable of selectively and specifically binding analytes of interest and related families (in form and functionality), which, are They will be used as mechanisms for capturing CEs, with fixing methodologies in photonic detectors to be able to be used for the rapid online detection of CEs.
