Julio J. Lado participated as Invited Speaker in Sustainability Days 2019 Symposium
The first edition of the Interdisciplinary Symposium entitled “Sustainability in civil, environmental and building engineering” was held in the University of Salerno (Italy) 1-2 July. The symposium was organized by Department of Civil Engineering and the University of Salerno.
Postdoctoral researcher at IMDEA Energy, Julio J. Lado was invited by Vincenzo Naddeo, Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering and Director of the Sanitary Environmental Engineering Division (SEED) of the University of Salerno to deliver a talk entitled “From Energy Storage Systems to Water Treatment Technology”. In this talk, the connection between emerging electrochemical water treatments, such as capacitive deionization and battery desalination, and energy storage systems like supercapacitors and batteries was shown.
The symposium is intended to realize a platform for researchers working in disciplines such as, environmental, building and civil engineering to disseminate the most recent results of their activities and exchange experiences and visions, with the aim to trigger interdisciplinary collaborations on cross-cutting issues of common interest. Take a look at the whole program.
Julio J. Lado also acknowledges the Erasmus + Program for the financial support and Comunidad de Madrid for the postdoctoral fellowship as part of the Young Talent Attraction Program (2016-T2/AMB-1310).
