New postdoctoral researcher in ECPU

Raquel Casasola has joined IMDEA Energy as a Maria de Maetzu postdoc, and she will work both for the Electrochemical Processes Unit and System Analysis Unit. She got her PhD from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2013. During her research in the E. Torroja for Construction Sciences (CSIC), she carried out part of the investigation in the Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramic (ISTEC-CNR) in Faenza (Italy), obtaining the mention of European Doctorate. Within the last years, she worked in the private sector where she gained experience in the end of life and recycling processes of all types of batteries (Alkaline, Lithium-primary, Li-ion, Metal-air, etc.). She participated in several European H2020 projects related to batteries, CDTI national projects, and also different regional projects financed by ICEX-Invest in Spain. Under a COST Action, she had a Short-Term Scientific Mission in the Industrial Materials Recycling Department in Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) where she studied the effect of different thermal treatments in the hydrometallurgical recycling processes of Lithium-ion batteries.
