International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Once again this year, IMDEA Energía opens its doors to students on the occasion of Women and Girls in Science Day, with a program of activities to highlight the role of women in the research sector, to encourage scientific vocation and to showcase the work carried out at the center from a playful and participatory approach.

PROGRAM 

10:00h -10:30h Welcome and introduction: Talent without gender. Women and science

Brief presentation of the Institute and analysis of data on the situation of the female sector in the scientific field.

10:30h – 11:00h Science in first person: visit to scientific facilities by IMDEA Energía researchers.

IMDEA Energía’s female researchers will review their relationship with science, the emergence of their vocations and their work within the scientific facilities they use on a daily basis.

11:00h – 11:15h Breakfast break

11:15h- 12:30h Guess who I am: interactive theater in which students will have to work in groups to find out which famous female scientists are behind our ‘actresses’ and learn about the relevant role they have played in the history of research.
