MSCA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2024 – EOI – IMDEA Energy Institute
IMDEA Energy Institute is seeking talented postdoctoral researchers to apply for the MSCA-2024-PF, with a submission deadline of September 11th, 2024. The institute has extensive experience in hosting and training postdoctoral fellows, having received several EU-funded MSCA grants, including 7 MSCA-PF and 4 COFUND, which have supported 32 postdoctoral fellowships. Additionally, IMDEA Energy Institute has been awarded the Seal of Excellence in Human Resources for Research (HRS4R).
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) are highly esteemed positions funded by the European Union, designed to support researchers aiming to pursue their work, gain new skills, and advance their careers. These fellowships offer a highly competitive salary and benefits, including mobility and family allowances, as well as research costs.
Who we are?
The IMDEA Energy Institute is a Maria de Maeztu Research Centre located close to Madrid (Móstoles – Spain), which aims at contributing to the establishment of an efficient and sustainable energy system with a high degree of decarbonisation, economically competitive and securing energy supply. To this end, its research efforts are concentrated on promoting the development of renewable energies and clean energy technologies.

- Development of high temperature technologies based on concentrating solar energy for synthesis of solar fuels and chemicals, heat and electricity generation (Supervisor J. González)
- Development of hybrid materials for photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic reactions of energy and environmental interest, including the use of Artificial Intelligence tools (Supervisors V. A. de la Peña O’Shea | M. Liras)
- Creation of new concepts and technological alternatives for electrochemical energy storage (Supervisors J. Palma | R. Marcilla)
- Development of catalysts and processes to produce sustainable fuels and chemicals from various waste-derived sources (Supervisors D. Serrano | P. Pizarro).
How to express your interest in a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship at IMDEA Energy Institute:

Eligible candidates should send their interest to the supervisor/contact person indicated within each EOI, providing the required documents, no later than July 5th, 2024.
Who are eligible for applying?
All interested researchers:
- must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have successfully defended their doctoral thesis prior to the date of submission (September 11th,2024).
- must have a maximum of eight-years of research experience, from the date of the award of their PhD degree. Maternity leave, paternity leave, extended absence due to long-term illness, non-research employment, compulsory national service and Research conducted in a non-associated Third Country (TC), applicable to nationals or long-term residents of a Member State or Associated Country aiming to return to Europe will not count towards the above maximum.
- must comply with mobility rules: they must not have resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the date of submission of the proposal.
