Transfiere, European Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation will be held at the Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Málaga on February 15, 16 and 17, 2023. As in previous editions, the IMDEA Energy Institute will be present, actively participating in the conferences and networking B2B meetings.

You will find us at the stand of the IMDEA Institutes network within the Community of Madrid pavilion, where the various technological offers of IMDEA Energy will be presented.

A Recyclable Electrode Batttery prototype will be exhibited during the 3 days at the Research Center (patent PCT/EP2021/073842 Recyclable Electrode Cell) which applies an assembled battery concept with semi-solid injectable electrodes to facilitate the recycling of the active materials and to reuse the inactive parts of the battery. In the injectable battery, the electrodes are not fixed in a current collector but are injected as a semi-solid material that enables the direct recovery of active materials through their expulsion from the cell. It allows to reuse all the passive components (current collectors, separators, casings,…) and the substitution of the electrode materials. When recycling, crushing is avoided and the following battery recycling stages are simplified. Advantages:

  • Contribute to battery recycling, material recovery and the circular economy.
  • Increase in the volume of metals recovered and in the economic profit.
  • Compliance with new regulations.
  • Simplification of recycling processes and reduction of their cost.

We will also be, together with other members of the SOMMa Alliance of centers with accreditation of Excellence Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu, in the space of this Alliance in the area of the State Research Agency, located within the Spanish Government Area.

  • Jesús Palma will represent BatteryPlat in the session “Challenges and opportunities of R+D+i in energy decarbonization 2025-2030” on day 16th at 11:00 a.m
  • Félix Marín will be a speaker at the Side Event “Life Ecodigestion 2.0 – Synergies towards a Technology Transfer” that will be held on day 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and in the elevator pitch for the presentation of the recyclable electrode battery prototype on day 17th at  12:15 h and will participate in several B2B networking meetings.
